Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible to assist and coordinate day to day logistics operations. He/she will ensure customer requirements are met on a day to day basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drayage

    • Scheduling drayage moves

    • Pricing / quoting drayage moves

  • Trucking

    • Scheduling pick-ups and deliveries

    • Building truckloads

    • Pricing / quoting

    • Building up new contacts for carriers

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required; some college preferred.

  • 1 or more years of relevant experience preferred in; supply chain, logistics, and / or distribution.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Customer service experience required.

  • Ability to prioritize and follow up with all customers accordingly.

  • Must have strong organization skills.

  • Ability to think critically is required.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required; specifically, before groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Import Traffic Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates services for import shipments in a time manner:

  • Trace and arrange shipping, if needed, from basic information received.

  • Secure shipping documents and determines services needed.

  • Determine charges due and who is responsible.

  • Refer to and update customer master file as needed.

  • Process shipment and arrange pickup as needed.

  • Keep customer informed of shipment status.

Prepares and processes import documents (ACE and non-ACE functions); processes billing and close out file.
